Promotion Cumulative dissertation in the Department of Chemistry
The doctoral committee should decide on the acceptance of a cumulative dissertation if all of the following conditions are met. These requirements can be checked using the cumulative dissertation form, which must be included before each publication listed. On the other hand you also have to submit the Application for admission to the cumulative dissertation to the dean's office when you plan to submit.
- The cumulative dissertation can only be completed by mutual agreement between the doctoral candidate and the supervisor(s).
- At least three publications in German or English are required, which have already been published in internationally recognised and appropriately listed journals or publication series1 following a peer review process as original articles (no review articles, reviews, highlights, perspectives, book chapters, patents or publications on preprint servers) or have been demonstrably accepted for publication (DOI must be available).
-
The doctoral candidate is the first author of all publications submitted, whereby a maximum of one publication may have a shared first authorship. The publications must cover the doctoral work. They must not be essentially based on the results of the student's own Master's or Bachelor's thesis. This must be confirmed by the signature of the supervisor - in the case of shared first authorship also by the second first author.
